Branches In The Works
The new Stone Hill Town Center branch is located in Pflugerville near toll roads 45 and 130 between Home Depot and Super Target. Following its opening on February 4th, the site marks our 16th Austin Metro location.
The University Oaks branch will be located in Round Rock off of IH-35 at the University Boulevard and Chandler Road exit in the University Oaks Shopping Center between IKEA and JCPenney. Construction is moving right along, and we hope to have this branch open no later than April.
We are pleased to announce the purchase of a new branch, located in Austin at Tech Ridge, near the intersection of Howard Lane and IH 35. The new Tech Ridge location is scheduled to open in April of 2010 and will feature a full service lobby, three drive thru lanes and a drive thru ATM.
2009 Tax Forms Available Online
Your IRS forms 1099-INT, 1098, 1099-R, 1099-Q, & 1099-SA can be found along with your eStatements on MemberConnect. These are official copies of the same forms we mailed to your address. Year to Date (YTD) dividend and IRA information can also be found on MemberConnect under the Savings & Checking tab. Under the Loans tab you’ll find the total interest paid on your loans with ATFCU. All of this information is also available on your December 2009 statement.Â
The IRS does not require a 1099-INT form if the dividends earned on your account are less than $10. If there isn’t a form 1099-INT for your account on eStatements, this is probably the case. Likewise the minimum amount required for a form 1098 is $600 of interest paid on your Home Equity or Home Improvement loan. These smaller amounts can still be claimed on your taxes even if we don’t produce an official IRS form.
Express Your Opposition to Harmful Interchange Legislation
This is an important issue that could negatively impact you and all members of our credit union. U.S. Congress is considering legislation that would reduce the amount of interchange fees paid by merchants when they accept a credit or debit card for payment. Interchange fees help pay the cost of processing credit and debit cards payments, with a portion going to card issuers like our credit union to cover risk and operations cost. Click here to learn more.
To express your opposition to harmful interchange legislation, please go to www.cuvoice.com and send an email message directly to your congressional representative. The more credit union members that weigh in on this issue, the greater chance we have to stop the legislation in Congress.Â

Out of State Debit Card Limits
With the increase in debit/credit card data breaches around the country, Austin Telco remains committed to protecting your good name and your deposits. In response to the growing out-of-state and foreign country fraud, we have lowered debit card out-of-state and foreign daily spending limits and placed additional limits and/or blocks on some out-of-state and foreign country transactions. Without previous notification and approval by Austin Telco, out-of-state and foreign country transactions (including internet transactions) will be limited to:
Signature based transactions - $250 per transaction up to a maximum of $3,000 per day
PIN based / POS (Point of Sale) transactions - $1,500 per day
ATM transactions - $800 per day
You may request temporary higher daily debit card limits by logging on to MemberConnect. Once you are logged in, select "Account Settings" and then "Traveling Outside of Texas/USA". The Traveling Abroad or Shopping Outside of Texas/USA feature can be scheduled up to three months in advance and lasts up to a month. If you need assistance or more information, please contact Austin Telco’s bookkeeping department at 512.302.5555, ext. 7190.
