University Oaks is Now Open

We are pleased to announce the opening of our 17th Austin Metro location. University Oaks is located in Round Rock off of IH-35 near the University Blvd. exit between IKEA and JCPenney. This full service branch offers three drive-thru lanes, a drive-thru ATM and safe deposit boxes. We are excited to expand and continue building relationships throughout the Austin Metro area.

69th Annual Meeting

The 69th Annual Meeting of Austin Telco Federal Credit Union was held on March 25, 2010, at The North Austin Event Center in Austin, Texas. Chairman, R.B. Smith, called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. Linda Nichols, an Austin Telco member, served as the parliamentarian for the meeting. A quorum was determined to be present. After a member motion and a second, it was voted unanimously to dispense with the reading of the 2009 minutes. In the same motion the minutes were also approved. Reports were made by the Chairman of the Board, the Treasurer, the Supervisory Committee Chairman, and the President/CEO. No old or new business was presented at the meeting. The election of directors was conducted by acclamation and R.B. Smith, Joyce Askins and Paul Paulsen, were elected to three-year terms. In addition, we have two new members on the Supervisory Committee, Steve Read and Don Adams. $5,500 in cash door prizes (including $500 in the children’s drawing) was awarded. The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 P.M.

Children's Miracle Network Ticket Raffle

Every year the Austin Chapter of Credit Unions unites local credit unions in an effort to raise money, by selling raffle tickets for large prizes, benefiting the Dell Children’s Medical Center. With its focus of making an impact on the community, the Austin Chapter of Credit Unions made a $2.5 million commitment, over an eight year period, to help bring down the cost of such an enormous project like the Dell Children’s Medical Center.

Tickets will be available for purchase at all Austin Telco branches and online by logging into MemberConnect through May 31st for only $1. With that ticket, Austinites will get the chance to win a 2010 Dodge Caliber courtesy of Nyle Maxwell Chrysler-Jeep, two roundtrip tickets for travel in the contiguous United States, Canada, Mexico, and Caribbean courtesy of Tramex Travel and American Airlines, or a 46” Sony BRAVIA S-Series LCD HDTV courtesy of Benefits Unlimited. The drawing will be held on June 3.

Foreign Country/Out of State Debit Card Limits

If you are planning to take a vacation or travel out of state in the near future, please be aware of out of state debit card limits. With the increase in debit/credit card data breaches around the country, Austin Telco remains committed to protecting your good name and your deposits. In response to the growing out-of-state and foreign country fraud, we have lowered debit card out-of-state and foreign daily spending limits and placed additional limits and/or blocks on some out-of-state and foreign country transactions.

You may request temporary higher daily debit card limits by logging on to MemberConnect. Once you are logged in, select "Account Settings" and then "Traveling Outside of Texas/USA". The Traveling Abroad or Shopping Outside of Texas/USA feature can be scheduled up to three months in advance and lasts up to a month.
